Background
‘The CAT’ - was born in 2000 and has an essentially eclectic style strongly influenced by contemporary music as well as the traditional disciplines of classical, jazz, and ethnic music.
The music created by this ensemble is quite unique because of the unusual fusion of instruments - the soprano sax, viola and electric bass. The wide training and experience of each member of the group has helped to produce the CAT’s innovative and exciting sound.
The creation of its varied repertoire has been enriched through collaboration with numerous and prestigious artists of the Iberian horizon. Musicians such as the flamenco pianist David Peña Dorantes; bass player Manolo Rosa of Triana and Alameda; and guitarist Juan Antonio Suárez “Canito”.
